Students are having a hard time staying engaged and interested in school during these hard times, especially for those students working from home. As a teacher, trying to keep in person and virtual students on track and engaged simultaneously is a challenge, and on top of that reworking units to adapt them to in person and virtual learning has been difficult.
Having the resources from TeachersPayTeachers would help immensely and benefit my students because I would be able focus more on their learning rather than planning and replanning the curriculum to adapt to changing class formats.
I am building 2 new units in English 9 and Writers Workshop. In one class we are going to be reading the book "A Long Way Gone", the resource I found on TeachersPayTeachers incorporates culturally relevant activities and prompts important and impactful writing and discussions between students. The other unit I am building is on professional writing, which will benefit my students in high school and beyond. Having unit plans and resources from TeachersPayTeachers would free up my time to help students who are struggling one-on-one so that everyone gets the most out of this extremely beneficial unit. Instead of me putting together random resources to accompany these units, students will be more engaged with the curriculums I found on TeachersPayTeachers.
