The students in my room are very curious and love to learn. I have the opportunity as a looping teacher to have the same kids for two years (teaching them both first and second grade curriculum). Skills learned in first grade can be reinforced and expanded upon in second grade. I have often thought of the students in first grade as "tadpoles" developing, growing, and learning into "frogs" in second grade.
