Distance learning is tough on kids...all kids, but imagine what it is like for our struggling readers. It has been proven, time and time again, that struggling readers need access to books, books, and more books. As an Academic Reading Specialist, I work with small groups of children who need extra support to help close the reading gap between them and their peers. As we are teaching and learning at home, we need to keep reading exciting, interactive, and hands-on as much as possible. Monitors and Document cameras can help do just that when hooked up to a teacher's laptop. Children can continue to practice their reading skills with the guidance and support of their teachers and feel like they are sitting right next to each other with a book in between them! Please help fund me so we I continue to bring the gift of books right into our student's homes by using the monitor to display and document camera to share and interact.
