I am teaching self-contained classes of students who need emotional and behavioral support. As a teacher, the challenge is to teach 2 subjects at the same time. For instance, during my 3rd period, I teach Study Skills I, II, and III and Biology I. During my 4th period, I teach US History and Government. During my 7th period, I teach Chemistry and Physics. Teaching virtual is already a challenge. If I open two different google meets on one computer to teach 2 different classes at the same, the noise between the two classes aggravates the students, who are already having emotional and behavioral issues. Using my school computer is not enough to provide both classes at the same time with the best support they need. I ended up using my own personal cell phone just to separate the two classes going on at the same time. I am already a wonder woman with it comes to teacher preparation because of the multiple subjects I am teaching in the self-contained classes. This project will help me strategize my teaching through breakout rooms when immediate one-on-one assistance is needed without disturbing the whole 2 classes. I can also present two videos to both classes without disruption since 2 screens in separate electronic are being utilized. I can talk to both classes simultaneously when reminders or announcements are to be given to both classes. How I wish you feel the way I feel in this virtual teaching experience. I consider teaching virtual as a higher degree of educating students. I want to provide the best but I cannot do this when I can only present a lesson on one computer. The need for a second dependable electronic can resolve my challenges. Thank you.
