Flex seating is a great way for students to choose the best way to learn that fits their learning style. Students have the opportunity to use flex seating during independent work, guided reading, and station work. My students love to use flex seating and work around the classroom. I noticed give them choices in how they work helps improve their grades, and they take more ownership in their work when they can choose how they work. They currently use scoop seats, lay on the floor with clipboards, or choose other tables around the room to work. I even allow students to earn flex seating as a reward, and they can buy it from our store on Fridays when they have enough points.
