Have you ever tried to MAKE a child sit still? Try for an entire class period-that's SIXTY minutes!! It's HARD-some days it's even impossible!!! There are ways to help this though. When students are given the appropriate tools, they CAN be successful! We have watched students go from not being able to make it through a class period, and once given the appropriate tools, they are able to actually be in the class and be successful! There's a catch though! These tools are not something provided to us by the district-and they're not cheap! However, they can last a LONG time if they're used correctly and taken care of. Tools/fidgets/objects could be anything from standing desks, wobble stools, wiggle seats, bouncy bands, exercise balls, and so forth.
