Even for fifth graders, hands-on learning is essential to help students grow as learners. It is also essential for students to know how to check their learning independently, especially if and when the teacher is assisting other students. This makes each student accountable for his/her own learning. Donations for this project will help my fifth grade students practice their math skills while having a way to check their learning with the versatiles. The versatiles create a pattern to show students if their answers are correct are not. Checking their own work without the teacher hovering them will give my fifth graders a sense of independence and responsibility.
