I love transforming my classroom into engaging environments for my students! In the past, I have transformed my classroom into a pizza parlor to teach ratios, a candy store to teach multiplying and dividing with decimals, outerspace to practice writing Equations, and a luau to teach greatest common factor! Hearing them say, "Wow! That was so fun!" when really all they did was 20 math problems but in an engaging way is incredible.
When I asked my students what they would like to see next they came up with the idea of under the sea! The purpose of these room transformations is to pull the students into the experience and make math engaging for them. For the Under the Sea theme, I plan on using it to teach probability. For example, what is the probability that we catch a red fish? This is much more exciting than pulling marbles out of a bag!
I would love to provide them with this opportunity. All of the classroom transformations that I have done have been paid for out of my own pocket and they can get expensive. Any donations would be appreciated!
