Our amazing students come to our classroom often scared and uncertain. I want to create a classroom that feels like a second home to these kids. The students we pull all have some kind of learning disability. We want this space to offer lots on lower relaxing lighting, comfy optional seating, and sensory to different textures. We never want our students to feel singled out or in trouble for their differences. We are in hopes our class room can be a safe space for them to come too where they wont feel the weight of the outside world. I have gone to these specific students and asked them about what are some "cool" things they would put in a classroom if they had one and I made sure to incorporate a lot of their own ideas, so that they see we take their input and concerns seriously. We love them enough to try and make it happen for them! Please help us make this a reality for them!
