It is so important for kids to see themselves in their classroom library. They need to see people from backgrounds like theirs, people who look like them. I also want my kiddos to learn to celebrate people for their unique stories. In my classroom, we read a book a day to keep reading joyful and fun for my students. I want my students to have access to a large variety of books that they can explore and learn from. As a first year teacher, building my classroom library is a large goal of mine.
