We provide a calm and comfortable classroom where students come for Social Emotional Learning and practice executive functioning, calming strategies, and behavior management to succeed in the classroom and community. The manipulatives and calming tools will be useful for student brain breaks. By using the "tools" students can refocus and perform better in the classroom. The "tools" also help students identify negative behavior patterns, learn positive responses to adapt and resolve classroom conflicts and develop supportive and respectful relationships with peers and adults. We work with kindergarten classes in the band room; the mobile desk will provide a work space for a laptop when using it for video purposes for teaching lessons as well as a space for manipulatives and items we use during lessons without disturbing the classroom teachers space. Donations will help us provide the additional materials needed for this expansion.
