My goal is to create lessons that help my students get excited about coming to math each day. We love to work in stations, use technology, play games, have class competitions, and work hands on with math manipulatives. I would like to use the black lights several times a year to have a "glow day" in my room. Sixth graders are starting to wonder if they'll ever be good at math. The lights, chalk markers, and glow sticks would excite my sixth graders, and it could make a normally 'dry' topic exciting for them! I try to create as many memorable and enjoyable experiences in my classroom as I can because I want my students to walk away from sixth grade thinking they can do math and they can be successful mathematicians!
