Please help me give my students a safe, interactive sensory area to enjoy. My classroom is composed of students with variety of Intellectual and physical disabilities. Some of my students have difficulty regulating their social/emotional needs. By having a sensory area with a variety of fidgets, seating, and other calming items, their needs would be met in a safe environment. Seating, sensory items and fidgets can help to calm them, help them to refocus and engage in learning activities that are fun and inviting! More than 50% of my students have behavior goals that they are currently working towards. These items would be helpful while working towards mastering their goals in self-regulating and self-soothing. My students sensory needs include visual, auditory and texture supports. The items that I have selected will allow them not only to self-regulate but also to stay focused in the the learning environment. They are very deserving of the items I have selected. Thank you!
