The materials that we are requesting will help me grow all aspects of my classroom. I am a first year teacher so my funds for my classroom preparation were limited. I am an ELA teacher so having a diverse classroom library is one of my dreams. I would love to have an abundance of books like the non-fiction "Who Was...Where Is...What Is..." books, fiction books that have main characters of different races, and empowering books about girls in STEM. I feel that every little girl and boy should be able to read a book and connect with the character on a deep level. Why ask a child to read if they cannot fully immerse themselves in the book. I would also love to use the One Wireless Printer in my classroom to help me prepare my many classroom items to make the room more inclusive for students (anchor charts, students items, and teaching materials). I aim to stay organized and begin collecting all things I use in teaching. The two drawer filing cabinet will help me organize all my materials so when it comes time to plan for next year my materials will already be there. As a first year teacher I need all the help I can get to help my students have the best experience in the classroom, even during these trying times.
