Kids seem to want to read fiction rather than nonfiction today. It is imperative that they are presented with current news (that has been fact checked) to keep them updated on the things that are going on in their world. These amazing magazines would be used in daily reading and writing stations to enhance their learning. These magazines also model great writing, which transfers over to their personal writing skills. The students particularly love the kid polls in the back of the magazine that touches on issues that they are passionate about. For example, should schools include Minecraft as one of the offered daily classes in school? Lots of great debates spiraled from this kid poll question!
