This project is to create and facilitate a book discussion around reading fiction and non-fiction texts in the 8th and 9th grade English classrooms. Eventually, we would like to create a school-wide common language using the signposts strategies outlined in these texts. This cross-curricular common language will help students when reading texts not only in their English classes, but science and history as well. Our intention is that by teaching students these notice and note signposts, they will become active readers across all core classes. These two authors are experts in their field as reading specialists.
