My students love working with clay in my class. The pottery classes are always the first to be filled. With this much interest in our program, we need clay and luckily our area has plenty of it. Unfortunately, our local clay remains too porous after firing to make it suitable for a mug. Once this project is fulfilled, my students will finally be able to make a fully functional ceramic mug that will not leak. This mug will be decorated with a face and eventually glazed the color of their choice.
