As the Title 1 teacher, I am working with students both at home and in the classroom often at the same time. We work in a small room with several teachers and students, and while we have dividers up, it is still difficult for some of our students to focus. At home, many students do not have headphones, and their home life is noisy. Distractions create additional challenges for students who already struggle with learning. High quality headphones with mics would allow our students to reduce the noise in the classroom and at home, which then will improve their concentration. Students can bring these headphones home for remote learning, or use them in class for in person learning. Because of COVID, we can not share headphones like we used to, and although it is part of the supply list, most students bring headphones from the dollar store that do not work well. They need headphones that will reduce noise, allow for back and forth conversation, and last for the remainder of the school year. This project will allow me to provide headphones to each of my students.
