Integrating technology into my small group instruction has always been a goal of mine. There are so many Apps my students can use to increase their knowledge of academic vocabulary in science. Apps like Quizlet and near-pod allow me to store new vocabulary words and students can flip through them and practice while we work together. iPads are more powerful than other modes of technology because students are excited to use them and they are also user-friendly! These are the reasons why it is critical my students get a chance to use these apps for powerful instruction. I also purchased a stylus to work on writing with the students. The students that will use the stylus are newcomer refugees from Yemen. They are learning English through science. I like to focus on writing and the stylus can be used with writing apps to practice letter formation.
