I'm in my first year of teaching at a new school and since the school was built more recently we can't hang things directly on the walls. My art classroom currently looks like a sad gray cell instead of the vibrant and inspiring room I had always envisioned for my students. I'm hoping to use bulletin boards to lean against the walls on top of my cabinets and above the white board since there's enough of a lip to rest them there. These boards will provide a space for art, posters, and student work.
Having a place for students to display their artwork in the classroom can inspire and motivate their young minds to reach for their highest potential. The boards will be a space where I can display artwork when we're talking about art history and famous artists or famous artworks as well as things like the Elements of Art and Principles of Design and a Color Wheel, which can elevate my students education by immersing them in the world of art from the moment they walk in my classroom. By maximizing the space that I do have I can turn an unwelcoming empty space into walls full of color and inspiration.
