Our students are learning to decode words in order to improve their reading and writing skills. As a part of our daily routine students practice writing words and marking the phonetic signs. With these whiteboards students will be able to write the words as I dictate them and then show their boards to me as they finish. Another activity is when they copy the word from the board, decode them using the different phonetic skills then tell me the word. Then they can erase the boards and we can continue to the next word. They will be able to use their boards to express their thoughts and answers or let me know they understand or need more assistance. They can also use the boards to respond to short questions and show their answers as a class. They can use them to share their choices on various questions or topics.
