My students have been learning remotely since March of 2020. I have been using an older Macbook Air provided by my school district. Since the beginning of remote learning, the battery has been considered in critical condition and cannot hold a charge. This causes the computer to lag and glitch during streaming and video meets. Recently, the camera on the computer has stopped working all together. This has made it incredibly difficult to reach my students. This experience is already challenging for my students; many of my students are non-verbal or fearful of working on the computer screen. Not being able to see their teacher encourage and support them has been another bump in the road to making their education as successful as possible.
