Our class is looking to start a classroom business. This will allow my students the opportunity to practice math skills, communication skills, life skills, and job skills. They have varying levels of developmental disabilities. Starting this business will allow them to practice skills that they will use out in the community and practice job skills that they will need in the future. We are hoping to start a snack cart business. We will sell water, soda, and snacks to our faculty and staff. Our students will be responsible for communicating with staff and processing the sale of the items. They will be able to practice customer services skills by approaching teachers and staff to purchase items. The money raised by our students will go back into the business to buy more supplies and any leftover will be used to cover field trip costs for our class.
