Students had direct input in this project. I asked students in each class what they believe would help them learn and what they think we need in the classroom. A classroom library for self-selected reading would address individual interests and levels of reading. Students also mentioned that our classroom needs more or newer art supplies and essentials like rulers and pencils. I added items like maps, cell phone holders, timers, buzzes… for more efficient and purposeful teaching. Other items are small gifts to acknowledge and celebrate students’ birthdays and special events.
