One of the main things my students struggle with right now is organization skills and showing up to class with their supplies. They have been in and out of school so much the past two years, and I can see a tremendous change in how students respond to learning compared to pre-COVID years. I would like to instill in my students the correlation between being organized and being successful in the classroom.
My students will use the notebooks to work bell ringers in each day, and then leave the notebooks in the classroom so there will be no excuse to not have them each day. The students will use the sheet protectors and the dry erase markers to work problems on during class, then they will hold it up so I can easily see the answer that they got. My classroom does not have any room to do board problems or board races so this will be a way to quickly assess their knowledge of a new topic before giving them an assignment over it. The sheet protectors can also be used to put a large coordinate plane in and practice graphing points, lines, and other graphs without having to make copies of a lot of different worksheets. A simple sheet protector can serve so many different purposes and can be used over and over again.
