Math is an important part of learning for children in their early years. With the counting materials and activities from the project, our students will be given an opportunity to improve their coordination, learn about counting and sorting, and expand their problem-solving skills. The counting bears will be used for activities such as sorting, patterns, and classifying. The counting tray will support children with their one-to-one correspondence skills. The colored chips will be used between both math and science activities. All of the materials will be incorporated throughout our preschool classroom integrating play-based learning with school readiness.
