I am requesting two classroom book sets of Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief and The Chronicles of Narnia to get my students introduced to different genres of books. My goal is that these books will peak my students' interest in reading. Every Friday, I conduct a "Literature Taste Test" and read the first chapter of a different book to my students and have them rate it based on how interested they are. It is important as a teacher to keep interest levels high and engaging when it comes to literature. These first chapters of the two books were overwhelmingly loved by my students and they want to see how these stories continue.
