In a time where exposing young children to different cultures and world views is so important, this book provides a joyful story of a young girl and fairytales. The story has a Chinese and Taiwanese spin - something I think my students will enjoy, particularly my Asian students who might not be used to seeing their own culture quite often in classroom libraries. All students deserve to be represented in the books we read in class. I would love to provide these students "a mirror" while my other students can learn about a culture they might not know about through a fun story of fantasy and adventure.
