My students have been back together full time after a year at full capacity in their classrooms. They are re-learning relationship and social skills with peers and trying to handle their emotions after being in a Brady bunch box, learning for a year. My students are noticeably more engaged in their work and less disruptive to their peers when they understand their emotions and utilize coping skills strategies. The products that I have selected, such as fidget tools and kick-bands will help my students by teaching them in and out of their classroom how to identify their emotions, select an appropriate coping strategy, role play it with me, and utilize when they need it. Workbooks and coping cards will help them when in session with me as well as provide resources to their teachers to help within the classroom. I have seen how teaching them coping skills and providing fidget tools can positively affect my students' work and demeanor and hope that the additional options will help us grow even more!
