This table will first and foremost provide a formal spot for my students to participate in small group differentiated instruction. Currently in my classroom, the setting changes each time we have a lesson, and my Fourth Grade students work best when a strong routine and clear expectations are in place. Fourth Grade students need an opportunity to work with one another to solve problems and make sense of their learning, and this table will help provide a comfortable setting to do so. This table will provide me with a better opportunity to work with small groups of students while monitoring each individual's progress. In addition, I will be able to foster social-emotional learning (SEL) in my fourth grade classroom. This will enable teamwork, mutual respect, problem solving, empathy, and reflection within my classroom.
