All students should see themselves and their families reflected in their education, curriculum, and resources. Learning about people who look and live differently than we may is an advantage for all people. It teaches kindness, empathy, and opens our eyes to beautiful people, experiences, and stories. Books will be read during shared reading, team reading, as well as independent reading. Using these books, students are able to see familiar faces and learn more about how to live in a kind society. I want my students to know similar or different, we all have a story worth reading.
