On the surface, this project doesn't seem very academic, but what we have learned this year is how much we need to support the emotional needs of our students. My class is finding it hard to calm down at times due to home stress, pandemic stress, and classroom stress. They are so young to have so much on their plates already. I want to have space in my classroom that has a very calm aesthetic and is pleasing to look at. This area will be filled with so many types of calming tools, posters, and seats .
