All of my school's students would benefit from having access to a 3-D printer in our Library Learning Commons. Our students use technology daily in their learning. They begin coding in kindergarten and build on those skills up through their 4th grade year. A 3-D printer would allow students to apply their coding skills to creating a tangible project that they watch from start to finish. Students in grades 3 and 4 will use design software to create an object to print. Students in younger grades will watch the printing process and be inspired to learn more about 3-D printing. All students will be exposed to the technology opportunities that a 3-D printer provides, while developing career-readiness skills.
