Although our school newspaper is new, my incredible students have blown it out of the water this year through their interviewing, writing, and investigative skills. Now, all they need are better quality cameras that will be ready when a story calls; after all, "A picture is worth a thousand words." By donating, these cameras will enhance student creativity, enable them to take quality photos on the go, and most of all, it will give them a feeling of importance and professionalism as they learn more and more about the exciting world of journalism. Even with the old, donated cameras that we were entrusted with, they made the best of what they had, and never complained. I can't wait to see what they will do with new, updated technology in our classroom. Having these will give me the opportunity to teach them more about photography and the careers that they can go into if they discover a passion for it. I can use our old cameras, and our new ones, to show examples of good and bad quality photos, while also teaching them how to care and respect equipment. Many of my students have never held a professional camera, and it may even land in the hand of the next famous photo-journalist! Please help my students capture all the important moments of the middle school career by donating to our project! Thank you so much for your support!
