We have had a school garden for over 20 years. Students gain much more than knowledge of gardening and the the growth of produce. They continue to grow friendships, work ethic, community mindedness, and pride. Students are found laughing, digging, talking and playing. The garden has become a centerpiece for our school and community. We want to expand gardening with this aquaponics system so we can garden year round. This is our final stage of learning how to grow with water by teaching my fourth graders how fish can feed plants.
