I teach kindergarten in a Title I school. My students just returned and are in a formal school setting for the first time. I want to make them feel safe and secure in a positive learning environment. The carpet squares are for social distancing. The clay provides a positive relaxing outlet for students to show their creativity. We are focused on positive behavior in our classroom. The rewards and incentives are to let students know that when they act in a positive way they will get to select a prize. They are also for students who are having a difficult day and a silly pencil can change their outlook and make it a positive day.
