Most of my students do not have access to art materials such as modeling clay. My students are excited about tactile learning and get pumped when they get to get their hands dirty! Giving students the agency to play and create will allow them to expand their imagination and express their creativity. My school is participating in LAUSD's Black Student Achievement Plan (BSAP). This lesson will be part of a unit focusing on work of many lesser-known Black artists and creators. Students will create art inspired by the sculpture work of Augusta Savage.
