As a Rehabilitative Behavior Health Counselor with the Georgetown County School District, I find it an honor to assist children to learn how to identify thoughts and feelings that lead to behaviors. I recognize that all children are different, with varying needs and experiences, which calls for creative therapeutic approaches yet grounded in evidence, based practice. At the elementary level, art therapy has proven to be not only fun but an invaluable tool to open up students' perspective and approach to challenges including mental challenges. Art therapy is also an awesome coping skill and a stress relieving strategy that will be long lasting into adulthood promoting mental stability and productive citizenship.

About my class
