Transitional Kindergarten is the newest grade level in the public school system. My students are all four years old when they start school and the last one will turn five in January. We are a little family in TK and are always working on our social emotional learning as well as our academics. We are practicing how to be a good friend, how to help others and making the right choices. Transitional Kindergarten is filled with exploration, experimenting, building and imagination. It is my job to prepare my 24 students for Kindergarten and give them the foundation for their education. TK is the bridge between preschool and kindergarten that gives the students a year to develop more socially and cognitively so they are successful.
