The motive for requesting these materials stems from the population served at Fannin, of which the vast majority (92.9%) qualify for free and reduced lunch. This being my third year at the campus, I have experienced the hardships that many of our students go through on a daily basis. Many of them come to school solely for the lunch, since it is the only source of sustenance. I want my students to know that not being able to obtain materials on their own will not affect their learning. My goal for this year is to try and ease at least one stressor from both the students and parents by providing them with basic classroom materials such as: pencils, erasers, highlighters, papers, folders, binder materials, white out, glue, among others. Most materials will still have to be shared, but I have included pouches that I plan to use to equally distribute the materials, and will label them accordingly, along with having the ability to transport them when our classroom is relocated throughout the year in the requested rolling bag. With the district being a 1:1 device ratio, I also want to include items (charger cords and cubes) to create a charging station so that they may charge their devices at school since there have been many circumstances in which students have not had access to electricity at home. Finally, I have requested cleaning supplies to make sure I keep my students as healthy as I can. The most important items are the hand sanitizers and Lysol sprays. I thank you for supporting my students, specially in such a difficult economic time that the pandemic has brought upon us.
