As the campus behavior specialist, my classroom consists of students with autism and those whose behaviors are so extreme it hinders their ability to learn. Safety is my primary concern, and a quality education a close second. Both of these require self-regulation and patience. Ultimately, it is compassion my neurodivergent students struggle to display. Therefore, I lead by example, as I continue to pour heart into my works.
