My students use a special curriculum that meets their individual needs. We focus on functional academics and life skills. We work on physical and emotional health as well. Practicing Yoga and mindfulness helps my students with physical health and mental focus to perform their best in class. They are building habits that will help them throughout their life. Some students use yoga as a way to self soothe and release excess energy. After yoga they are often more focused on their work and can use mindfulness to regain control when upset. I love seeing them learn to use natural methods to self regulate.
