My students love to read, but some of the choices that are available to them are very old and not very interesting to them. I would love to support my students by providing them with books that represent their diverse families and diverse interests. Sometimes it is difficult to grab and maintain their attention and focus during lessons with the older books that have been provided to me. These new books would help engage students by reaching their interests and by giving them the opportunity to see their cultures and family dynamics within a story.
