We will use these materials to support students learning in our special setting. Our school is Title 1 and we have a disproportionate amount of economically disadvantaged students. We will use metal baking sheets to let students due word work and building phonemic awareness. They will also be used with magnetic numbers to build the foundation of numbers and operations. These interactive strategies are researched and proven to be successful in guided reading and math. We need easels to Anchor our lessons with charts to hang on the walls for kids to use. Student's need earbuds to use on district online math programs and online books. Our student's need every available resource and sound teaching strategies to close their gaps in learning. Many of our students have been through adverse experiences and carry the negative emotional messages about themselves as they developed. We have a large population that did not get their needs met through nurturing and now have trouble with attachment, confidence, and trust. They didn't ask for the negative experiences they have lived through or survived and they deserve for someone to believe in them and not give up so they can one day believe in themselves. We will be teaching the students social emotional skills to become aware of their true worth, intellect, and safety. We strive to create nurturing and unconditional love that we all need in this world. We thank you for considering our project to fund.
