My students have a variety of disabilities ranging from autism to cerebral palsy and have minimal verbal skills. Providing a variety of communication opportunities is necessary for them to make progress. These devices will help them learn the beginning stages of talking, give them a voice, and make them excited to communicate. They will be used at circle time, during transitions, during snack and play time in order to interact, make choices and ask for what they want, giving them more independence. The power of communication helps decrease behaviors and give kids more independence.
