I work with ELL and Special Education students who struggle with Reading and Writing. I teach them remotely, and I have to do extensive modeling of reading and writing strategies. Our school district uses the Reading and Writing Curriculum authored by Lucy Calkins and her team. The programs are wonderful but very challenging for the students. Teaching Writing remotely especially is very challenging since every step of the writing process needs to be modeled. A good quality document camera would go a very long way in helping me to make my Writing instruction more engaging and effective.
