The block center is a very important center in my classroom. This is where children can explore spatial reasoning, work together and learn how to make shapes from other shapes. I have had the opportunity to witness trial and error and children working together to make a structure. I have also watched children learn about the world around them, and build things like the Eiffel Tower, the Great Wall of China, and the Taj Mahal. They have built structures and drawn out blue prints of what they have made, worked as a team to build the tallest or the longest building and used their imaginations to make towns, cities, and zoos! The block center is very popular, but unfortunately I do not have the resources to be able to add more to this center because of the cost of blocks. With your help I will be able to and help the children in my class to continue to build, create and learn.
