Having comfortable seating, stress balls, and light covers will be very helpful for my students when they are overstimulated or need a break. Having more options for the students when they need a break helps them learn appropriate coping skills when upset. Making sure students have multiple options when in need of a break is key when working on emotional regulation. There is a notable difference in behaviors when students have options to choose from. My students are noticeably less disruptive of their peers when they are given a choice of where or with what they need for a break. The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them additional break options to make more appropriate choices. The academic items I have selected will also help them understand the unit they will be learning about this year. The comfy floor seats will allow for additional comfortable floor seating options when in need of a break or even used for leisure. They are lightweight and can be easily used in many areas of the classroom. I have seen how having multiple choices can positively affect my students' behaviors, work skills and hope that the additional items to choose from will help them be as successful as possible.
