Although my students need lower-level books in terms of reading level, it doesn't mean that they can't create brilliant ideas and be the next wave of people to change the world. I want to help students to love reading, by getting books that they can build off of and use to analyze the state of their community and their country. I want them to see themselves in others. That people of color, people with disabilities, and women can bring enormous change to the world. That they can be those change-makers. That the future will be built on their ideas and choices.
