Special education and regular education students need calculator to solve trigonometric ratios. We use trigonometry to solve for missing side lengths in right triangles as well as using the inverse of the ratios when solving for the missing angle in right triangles. Students need the appropriate type of calculator to solve trigonometric ratios in geometry class. Learning virtually versus the classroom makes it very difficult to help students learn how to use their individual calculators. If students have the same calculator for class, I can teach how to use the keys not only in class, but I can create short "how to videos" that they can fall back on when not in the virtual classroom. Though we are virtual, students will pick up the calculator from school and use it through the remainder of the year.
